IMPORTANT NOTICES
Our phone number has changed, please make a note that the old number is no longer in service.
The new number is: 406-314-8226
If a channel that you normally get fails to come in, try rescanning first. At various times, we are forced to make changes to the underlying technology that affects how your TV tunes to those channels. A rescan is often the fastest and easiest solution.
During April, 2023, we will be working on the PBS channels and you may not receive them for a short period (hours to a few days). We will attempt to make these outages as brief as possible and apologize for the inconvenience.
April 14, 2023: A change was made regarding the stations starting with 34.x You may have to rescan to get all of them.
November 3: a necessary upgrade for Montana PBS took place. You will need to rescan your TV to once again receive these channels. Until you rescan you will still receive all other channels except Montana PBS (channels 46.1 to 46.5).
November 6: We do know that ABC and FOX have been out intermittently over the last two days. The problem is upstream from us and is statewide. Thank you for your patience.
November 15: The previous day saw a violent wind storm and Blacktail Mountain (where we get our signal from) incurred damage causing a loss of signal for a number of our channels. As we are not responsible for that tower site, some of our channels will be offline until that site is repaired.

Our Mission
Welcome to Swan Hill TV District on the Web
The district began in 1959 as a local club with the goal of providing local translation of the NBC station in Kalispell which cannot be otherwise received due to the signal being blocked by Swan Hill itself. Problems and solutions often being found in very close proximity, a small tower was erected at the summit of Swan Hill and the translator district came to life. In 1961 the club became a tax district with a 51% vote by eligible voters in the proposed district. Note: This site is built using tools from Dotster.com. You may see a security warning saying the SSL Certificate does not match the site name or URL. This site uses a standard SSL encryption certificate that comes as part of the hosting plan issued by *.Dotster.com. The site is secure and all information is encrypted for your safety. However, some security software or browsers may warn you because the SSL certificate is not issued directly to swanhilltv.org. You many safely ignore these warnings for this site. New Challenges and Opportunities The United States Congress has mandated that all "on air" television broadcasting cease using the analog standard NTSC and switch to the new digital broadcast standard ATSC. While translators were NOT required to meet the February 17, 2009 deadline, the district has installed the necessary equipment and all stations are broadcasting in ATSC and are carrying digital signals. Our stations have all been upgraded using the best translators for our level of service, low power TV or LPTV. Our mission is to maintain this service and provide new content when it becomes available and the district is ready. For more on ATSC 3.0, please click here to view our Technical Page. Current Mission The board is working to provide interesting and educational content to the district. With our new translators we can receive some free signals from satellites and offer them on our stations. The first of these efforts involved erecting a few dishes and getting KSPS Spokane that way. It is now available on 7.1 in high quality SD. Shortly thereafter we found and American/World content station, EBRU. That can be seen at 21.1 now. As we look for new signals and check for their availability, we may offer some programming temporarily in order to evaluate it. On 21.2 you will AJE, 24/7 world news. Future offerings include a NASA signal, RFD and Retro TV which offers a full slate of TV programs from the 50's 60's and 70's and THIS TV which is a movie channel. As the offerings expand in this and other areas people are finding they can meet most of their needs for TV with over-the- broadcasts.
